Running a promotion? How to plan website pages that turn the offer into bookings
A seasonal discount, a grand opening, a limited-time package: promotions can bring in a wave of new customers. But many businesses send people to their homepage and hope they find the offer. Most don’t, and the promotion underperforms.
When we build websites, we often plan pages around a specific promotion. Here’s the approach, so you can apply it whether we build your site or not.
Give the offer its own page
A dedicated page lets you match exactly what people saw in your ad, flyer or social post. When someone clicks “20% off spring servicing”, they should land on a page that says “20% off spring servicing”, not a general homepage where they have to hunt for it.
A focused page also makes it easy to share the link, measure how many people visit and adjust the offer without disturbing the rest of your site.
Lead with the offer, not your history
The top of the page should answer three questions immediately:
- What’s the offer?
- Who is it for?
- How do I claim it, and by when?
Your story, team and full service list can come further down, or not at all. On a promotion page, every section should help the visitor take the offer.
Make one action obvious
Decide what claiming the offer means: a phone call, a booking, a form or a voucher code. Then make that single action the main button and repeat it down the page. Remove menus and links that pull people away if you can.
Be specific and honest about the details
Vague offers feel suspicious. State the price or saving clearly, what’s included, any conditions and the end date. A real deadline encourages people to act, but only use one if it’s genuine.
Add proof close to the offer
People taking up an offer from a business they don’t know want reassurance. Place a review or two, a photo of the work and your guarantee or terms near the button. It answers the “is this legit?” question before it stops them.
Plan what happens after the promotion ends
Don’t leave an expired offer live. Either update the page with the next offer, redirect it to a relevant service page, or switch it to a waiting list for the next round. That keeps any links and shares working for you.
Building around your goal
This is the same principle we apply to every website: start with what you need it to do, then plan every page around that. If you have a promotion coming up, or a launch, or an old site that isn’t pulling its weight, we can plan the pages with you on a free call.
